For students to earn high school credit for Algebra 1, they must achieve an average of 80 or higher. Students who do not meet this requirement will take Algebra 1 Accelerated in high school and will not receive high school credit for 8th-grade Algebra 1.

Credit will be awarded to students who complete high school courses in Meriden middle schools when they attend Maloney High School or Platt High School. By taking high school courses in middle school, students will have opportunities to earn college credits in high school.

Honor Roll Criteria

The criteria for making the honor roll are as follows:

  • A student is ineligible to be on any honor roll if he/she receives a “C” in any class.
  • To attain High Honors:
    • The student has no more than 1 “B” in any class that meets daily (academic classes).
    • The student has no more than 1 “B” in any class that meets less than daily (UA’s).
  • The student has no less than a “B” in any classes.
    • The student has no less than a “B” in any classes.
